8:00 a.m.: Departure
The driver-guide will pick you up at your hotel or residence to go and explore the Wild South!
10 a.m.: First stop: the Grand Galet waterfall (Langevin). It is one of the most beautiful waterfalls on the island, undoubtedly the largest and most emblematic: it’s looks like a delightful postcard!
Then let’s get some fresh air at Cap Méchant, the place is most surprising: a vast green grass is covering ebony black rocks close to the deep blue of the ocean. A unique landscape where the forces of nature are fully expressed!
12:00 p.m.: it’s lunch time! Let’s taste delicious local dishes!
After lunch, we continue our adventure by visiting the lava road. the magma from large volcanic eruptions came down the slopes and flew into the ocean.
There are now rivers of solidified black rocks, retaining the forms and vicissitudes of the past magma. This site is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Let’s continue our journey to discover the church “Notre Dame des Laves”, a religious building which miraculously survived a lava flow in 1977.
Let’s end our day at Anse des Cascades, a picturesque and almost heavenly bay, adorned with many waterfalls and palm trees.
* Lava Tunnels option: in the afternoon, instead of visiting the church and Anse des Cascades, it is possible to discover the Lava Tunnels. With professional speleologist guide, you will walk into the bowels of the volcano! (with reservation only)
We then return calmly back to your hotel or residence.
